80 Percent of Americans Suffer from a skin condition like Psoriasis, Eczema and Dermatitis. Some conditions can range from mild to severe and  can start at any age from infants to adults.

The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes that are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Areas of temporary skin discoloration may appear and are sometimes due to injuries of the skin that have healed. Scratching open a lesion that is healing may result in scarring and may enlarge the rash.

The word eczema comes from the Greek meaning to boil over. Dermatitis comes from the Greek word for skin– and both terms are referred to the same skin condition. In different languages dermatitis and eczema have the same meaning while in other languages dermatitis implies an acute condition and   eczema a chronic condition, the two conditions are often classified together.

Dermatitis is an allergic reaction or condition and often occurs on people who also have asthma. An itchy rash is particularly noticeable on head and scalp, neck, inside of elbows, behind knees, and buttocks.  Eczema may be described by location (e.g., hand eczema), by specific appearance or by possible cause. Further adding to the confusion, many sources use the term eczema for the most common type of eczema interchangeably.

Psoriasis occurs when the immune system mistakes a normal skin cell for a pathogen, and sends out faulty signals that cause overproduction of new skin cells. It is not contagious. Psoriasis has been linked to an increased risk of stroke, and treating high blood lipid levels may lead to improvement. There are five types of psoriasis: plaque, guttate, inverse, pustular, and erythrodermic. The most common form, plaque psoriasis, is commonly seen as red and white hues of scaly patches appearing on the top first layer of the epidermis (skin). Your diet and the nutrients your body receives plays a big role on the condition of your skin. Here are a list of foods you should avoid that can cause the condition or make it worse if you already have it. I recommend removing Wheat and Sugars first and for most out of the diet and this includes artificial sweeteners which cause all sorts of other issues. If you need help on the path to healing and getting healthy  holistichealerhealthcoach.com  can guide and coach you to create a program that is right for you.

  • Sugar, artificial sweeteners
  • Soda, especially diet
  • Meats
  • Dairy
  • Wheat
  • Processed foods

These foods can cause all sorts of havoc on our system and most can cause an allergic reaction, breathing problems, digestive issues, which in turn creates minor to major problems with our skin.
